Description: Few people know this, but one of the architects of the metric system, the astronomer Pierre Méchain, developed his theories in the Desert de les Palmes Natural Park. Furthermore, he died of a disease transmitted by a mosquito and was buried in Castellón. However, rumour has it that his ghost continues to visit the mountains of Benicàssim, trying to cross them to return to France, his homeland.
