Rototom Sunsplash is the biggest reggae meeting in Europe.
For several consecutive days, reggae music is everywhere: concerts start every day at dusk, the dance hall is filled with rhythm and dance during the night, and emerging bands make their mark in the Showcase Club. The MainStage hosts the most important artists and groups on the world scene every night, such as Damian Marley. Mornings are dedicated to relaxation, meditation and alternative medicine at Vivir la Energía. Social commitment and culture arrive at the Social Forum and Reggae University in the afternoons, where debates, meetings on reggae music and Rasta culture, films and documentaries, and photography and art exhibitions take place. There are also courses in percussion, African dance, capoeira and didgeridoo in the African Village. A team of educators organises entertainment and play activities for the many children in the Magical World, and the gastronomy and the Healthy Art Market are open 24 hours a day to offer the public the most varied products from all corners of the planet, both in the form of recipes and traditional crafts.
On the cultural side, Rototom Sunsplash has become a real laboratory over the years. It is able to read the deep movements of European society in terms of civil rights, anti-racism and economic transformation, and give a voice to some of the most notable intellectuals on the international scene. It has been recognised by UNESCO as a Flagship Event of the International Decade for the Culture of Peace for its commitment to peace culture. Its great commitment to the environment has also earned it The Greener Festival Award.
Spend a real holiday at the beach with sun and reggae on the shores of the Mediterranean.
The festival will be held from 16 to 21 August in 2024.
