Description: Through this tour, we will discover the medieval origins of Benicàssim, the birth of its current town center in the 18th century, and the economic, social, and urban transformations that shaped its development during the 19th and 20th centuries. We will learn about how the lives of its inhabitants were organized, the importance of agriculture and transport links, and the arrival of new architectural trends that altered the town’s appearance. During the visit, we will enter the Church of Santo Tomás de Villanueva, the construction of which was championed in the 18th century by Francisco Pérez Bayer—a key figure in the shaping of present-day Benicàssim. This tour offers insight into how Benicàssim evolved from a small agricultural settlement into a town that embraced tourism and modernity.
