Description: In this evening activity, Sant Vicent Tower invites us to discover one of the most unsafe periods in the history of Benicàssim through the eyes of those who lived within its walls. Built in the 16th century to watch over and protect the coast, these walls bore witness to a Mediterranean marked by the threat of raids, attacks and landings that terrified coastal communities. Added to these were the dangers of the sea, giving rise to fascinating mysteries and superstitions.
We will learn about the history and secrets of the tower, how the coastal surveillance and defence system operated at night, and what life was like on a coast under constant threat. A different way of delving into Benicàssim’s past, taking advantage of the special atmosphere of the night of 31st October.
