Blue Flag is an international award for environmental, health and safety quality created and managed by the FEEE (Foundation for Environmental Education in Europe), since 1987. The FEEE is made up of 22 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), one for each participating State. ADEAC is the member responsible for Spain of the FEEE.
The objective of the FEEE is to promote, at the international level, environmental information and education, through programs such as Blue Flag, Eco-Schools, Young Environmental Reporters and Forests at School, as well as other actions that promote sustainable development of tourism and local communities (Local Agenda 21).
Benicàssim has been receiving this distinction continuously since 1988. It is a recognition of good work in favor of quality tourism and proper protection of natural resources for the environmental improvement of the beaches of Benicàssim.
The FEEE annually awards the Blue Flag to beaches, ports and boats that meet the criteria of legality, health, cleanliness, safety and environmental information, summarized in the 12 pictograms attached.
All the beaches of Benicàssim have Blue Flag.
