Casal Jove

Dependent on the Youth Department. We work for young people by offering various services in different areas and sectors:

1. Leisure and Free Time Activity Area:

• Open space: meeting point, games, reading, homework (Monday to Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.).
• Open activities: open and multidisciplinary programme of alternative leisure activities on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (see monthly programme).

2. Training Area:

• Official courses, single-subject courses, and training workshops throughout the year.

3. Information and Documentation Area:

• Youth Information Centre (CIJ)
• The free public Youth Information Service which offers up-to-date information on topics of interest to young people, such as grants, aid, calls for applications, work and studies without prior appointment, by means of:
  • Personalised service
  • Self-consultation via bulletin boards or the computer room with internet access.
  • Monthly newsletter
• Document collection and newspaper archive on youth issues:
  • "Racó del monitor/a": We have a large number of books about sociocultural entertainment, social education, leisure and free time, studies on youth and articles.
  • "Punt IES": recommended and compulsory reading for IES Violant de Casalduch High School
• Opening hours: Monday to Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday (mornings) from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

4. Resource Centre

• Computer room: free access service for local young people up to 30 years old.
• Student corner: place to do homework and class work
• Meeting room and small exhibitions
• Ràdio Jove broadcaster
• Group spaces: meeting point, meetings, space rental (upon prior request).
