Benicàssim, 30 April 2022

Following the opening performances by Los Chichos and regional groups such as A Compás and Desandar, today the city continues to teem with activity for the 7th Annual Benicàssim Flamenco Fusion Food Festival, with flamenco performances across the city centre. Around noon the spirit of flamenco settled in Plaza Los Dolores and Plaza de la Estación with respective performances by Jarite and Efraín. Following them, residents and visitors were able to enjoy local cuisine and recharge for the evening’s events. For this occasion, Jarana, Paradita Flamenca and Isra Maldonado will be bringing flamenco music and art to Plaza Los Dolores, Plaza Sequiota and Plaza Constitución starting at 4:30 pm. Patxi Ojana at Pub Magic will hand it over to Ketamania to open the main stage, El Tablao. Ketamania is a tribute band to the legendary Carmona brothers’ group and is made up of Paradita Flamenca’s members. After them Ricardo Gabarre will perform. Better known as Junco, this 80’s artist is one of the most famous “balada gitana” singers. “Hola mi amor” and “Celos” are two other songs that are part of the history of rumba and flamenco. This Saturday’s programme will be topped off at 11 pm by Rumbasound performing at Plaza Sequiota and María José “La Gitanilla” performing at Pub Magic.

The last day of the festival will kick off with the little ones playing the role of stars with the kid’s dance workshop at El Tablao starting at 11 am, followed at 12 pm by the 2nd Meeting of Sevillanas featuring a Rocío group singing traditional Andalusian songs. Rumbología will perform at Nuun at 4 pm in the lead-up to closing this year’s Benicàssim Flamenco Fusion Food Festival with the 3rd Singing and Dancing Performance led by Fosi y Familia at El Tablao at 6:30 pm, followed by the star performer, one of flamenco’s most iconic voices: Duquende.
