Benicàssim Trenet Park

It is a tribute to the world of trains. On Sunday mornings you can enjoy its 5 and 7 ¼ inch trains and locomotives, faithfully reproduced to scale, and climb into its small carriages for a ride around the park. Ideal for children.

- Sundays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. all year round, except July and August.

- In July and August the timetable is extended to three days a week: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 6.30pm to 9pm.

Libraries of the Sea and Bebeteca

The Central Library and the Palmeral Library organise reading activities, aimed at children from 15 months to 7 years old, in the afternoons. The activities consist of three different workshops for each age group. The youngest children will enjoy the educational workshop "Contes i bolquers", where an animator leads a short activity to develop the baby's attentive listening through stories, puppets or nursery rhymes that stimulate the attention of the little ones.

The second of the reading animation workshops, "Contes de colors", is designed for children from 2 to 3 years old, and focuses on the discovery of first readings by means of attractive books, but with a size and characteristics adapted to the needs of the participants.

Finally, for children aged between 4 and 7, the workshop "La màgia dels contes" (The magic of stories) aims to teach the educational and leisure possibilities offered by the library. All this is done through storytelling and readings, turning the library space into a magical place where numerous adventures take place.

Libraries of the Sea: during the summer season, the two Libraries of the Sea organise reading activities, storytelling and children's theatre.

Children's Entertainment

Drawing workshops, handicrafts, traditional games and environmental education activities are some of the proposals that are carried out to enjoy the outdoors.

The town of Benicàssim also has the "Disfruta el sábado" programme. This is a programme of fun activities for children aged between 5 and 12 which takes place every Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in the municipal sports centre. These activities are free of charge and no pre-registration is required. Number of places: up to 50 children.

Some of the activities carried out are: massage workshop, bricks recycling workshop, puppets, bracelet making, traditional games, juggling, board games, cooperative games, basketball, baseball, circuits with hoops and balls, etc.

Enjoy Saturday

Every Saturday a different adventure, with workshops, games, crafts, sports, etc. Children from 5 to 12 years old. Timetable: Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Municipal Sports Centre. Free activity without prior registration. 50 places.

Skatepark

Place equipped for skateboarding, acrobatic bike or skates. Located behind the Lidl supermarket (Av. Barcelona, s/n).

Guided visit to the Interpretation Centre La Bartola

With interactive models; they have a turtle recovery centre with numerous specimens of different species and the native Mediterranean turtle.

Children's Swimming and Psychomotor skills in the water

This activity goes a little further than just children at this age swimming, floating or learning to dive, by setting up a programme:

- Utilitarian: where children learn not to drown or float in different positions.

- Recreational: children go to the pool with their parents, have fun and play. Highly recommended to encourage bonding between them.

- Therapeutic: in which we could include children with physical and psychological problems such as muscle tone dysfunction, back problems (kyphosis, lordosis, foot deformities, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, etc...).

Popular festivities

During the patron saint fiestas of San Antonio Abad and Santa Águeda, in January, events are held throughout the week, including: the procession and blessing of the animals and decorated floats for the distribution of the "coqueta" (small blessed cake), the pilgrimage to the hermitage of Santa Águeda and the bonfires on the eve of the feast of San Antonio Abad.

The festivities in honour of Santo Tomás de Villanueva are held during the week including the 22nd of September with numerous children's activities as well as the typical and popular events: open-air dances, bullfights, bulls with bulls and fireworks and the presentation and official proclamation of the Queen of the main and children's festivities.

Finally, during the night of San Juan (23rd June), the prelude to another warm summer is celebrated. Tradition fills Benicàssim with magic for one night and brings together residents and visitors alike at midnight on the beach to get their feet wet, light bonfires and make wishes. Several local associations take part in this event, organising various programmes with typical dances, and the distribution of cakes and muscatel among the attendees.

Nature and Landscape Cycle Tourism Route

A route along the bike path that will allow you to appreciate in a quiet and healthy way some of the natural charms that Benicàssim has to offer. The route is circular, has 13,550 m. and a minimum gradient adapted to adults and children. There are several rest areas with bike racks.

Karting Benikarts

The circuit is 940 metres long with 9 right turns and 4 left turns. It is considered by many drivers as one of the most technical and fun karting circuits in Spain. It has timing to give a more competitive touch to the races between friends that take place there.

Route of the Villas, Landscape and Tradition by the Sea

On the northern promenade, from the Hotel Voramar to the Torre de San Vicente. This is a pedestrian route by the sea where you can appreciate the beauty of the stately summer residences of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, where you will learn about the origins of Benicàssim as a tourist town.
